Lake Powell

We went on our annual Nielson family vacation to Powell the end of May into June. It was beautiful, perfect weather and water. LOVED IT! One of my favorite places to be. Josh's first time out on the water. He loved it!
So - Since I will NEVER strap my feet into something again (no wakeboarding) I told Pat I wanted a surfboard because it is my FAVORITE thing to do. (And..I'm pretty good at it :) hehe). What a good guy, he surprised me on the way down (after I spent a few hours pouting) by stopping and buying one. I spent a couple of good hours on it! Such a blast! But, of course, we didn't take any pictures. So, this is me a few years ago surfing. Now, I got the surfboard, I have to start working on him about a boat! :)
Lovin' being on a boat.My cute guys.
What a character!
Josh, Cole and Kyle. Josh now keeps talking about his "brothers" Cole and Kyle. Pat and Josh on the waverunner.
Josh had so much fun being with his cousins. It was great for him to be around them so much.
Josh and Kayla coloring.
Can you tell he is not supposed to be touching them yet?
He had so much fun.
A little confused about what the "washing" bucket is for.
Josh and Pat spent hours playing with squirt guns.Morgan was unbelievably amazing. She has become such a good, happy baby.
Laughing on our bed. On our way out to go home. We were all a little worn out.

Catching up...the rest of May

Can I just say how much I LOVE having a girl. I am so glad that Heavenly Father is in charge of that and not me. I thought I wanted a boy. Do you know how much FUN this is:Morgan- a little over 2 months. The playground was finally finished. It really only took them about 3-4 days (and I think they all secretly enjoyed it more than they let on!) It is seriously the greatest addition to the backyard. We love it! I am so glad Pat listens to me once in a while!Josh had just woken up from a nap to find swings and a slide. His first time down the slide (can you see his tongue?)
Cheezing it first time on the swing.Morgan enjoyed it.
Halle's not sure.
Josh and his best friend Makayla on the swings - Josh is REALLY missing her!!
He loves it so much - I can't even get him off when he is falling asleep. SO CUTE!
So, I can admit it...BOTH my kids LOVE Baby Einstein. They didn't even notice me taking these pictures of them.

Look at Josh - like father, like son!! :)

Projects

Pat's new project - a playset in the backyard. Thanks Jon for coming out to help!
SOOOO many pieces - the yard is covered.
After the first day of work - I think they are to step 3 of 35.
My project - getting the MILLIONS of flowers we bought planted

Josh loves being outside "helping"Morgan hanging out with Halle. They love each other. Thank you Kaity for watching the kids while we got stuff done!

Our "Poopy" Party

If you get offended easily - don't read this - but this is what real life is all about!!

The other morning Josh insisted on wearing "big boy pants." He had found some Buzz Lightyear pants in his drawer. So, we put them on. He got on the toilet to try a couple of times and stayed dry for a couple of hours. Then, he came running naked to me and yelling, "Mom, hurry, I need you. I need a diaper, hurry!" He layed a diaper on the floor and layed on it. I could tell he needed to go, so I put him on the toilet. Wouldn't do it - yelling for his diaper on. I told him we were going to play a game and put some Fruit Loops in the toilet and told him to try to hit them. He did - no problem. He immediately wanted to call Pat and tell him that he now got to go to Chuck-N-Cheese (Chuckee Cheese- we have promised for months that if he pooped on the toilet we would go). Later when we went to Pat's work Josh announced to all of Pat's coworkers that he had "bounced" a big poop off the Fruit Loops and now gets to go to Chuck-N-Cheese. We went that night!

Daily life...

The other morning I heard Josh talking in his room so I went to see what he was doing.
I peeked in and he didn't see me so I grabbed the camera.
He had opened his blinds, grabbed his hat and
he was leaning against his bed reading his book out loud.

Josh loves his little sister

And SHE loves HIM - He gets lots of smiles and laughs

We are seeing a lot of smiles lately - so much fun!!

Easter

It's only taken me a month, but here is our Easter!
We started the holiday a week early with an Easter egg hunt and dinner at Max & Christine's.
The Friday before Easter Josh dyed easter eggs with his cousins Paige and Kayla.
It was his first time and he thought it was pretty great! Then we went to a hunt at the park Saturday morning. Josh was a little too considerate.
Morgan had a great morning nap at the hunt.
At the gate leaving the park they gave each kid a stuffed animal.
These aren't really that big, but they are the same size as Morgan.
Easter morning

Josh got a trike for Easter
We ate Easter dinner at Mom and Dad's houseMorgan with her great-grandma and grandpa
